Hope you had a lovely Easter weekend with loads of chocolate and sunshine. I certainly did, as myself and the boyfriend headed to Wexford to visit his family and pick up some greenery for our balcony boxes from their local garden centre. I can’t recommend Beechdale Plantplus in Enniscorthy enough. Bargains to be had, folks! The staff were so knowledgeable and patient with us novices (we killed quite a few heather shrubs last year).

Anyway we picked up a heap of herbs like lemon thyme, regular thyme, basil, parsley, and terragon. On the decorative side of things, we got ourselves a climber, a white rose, a selection of grasses, some fab looking alpines (can’t go wrong with 6 for €15), and something called a “Rubella” which I’ve always thought was something you’re meant to immunize your children against. However it’s sweet scent and gorgeous colours easily makes it my favourite of the bunch.

For Earth Day this year, even if you can’t make it all the way to Beechdale Plantplus, I’d like to ask you call to plant something. If you don’t own a garden or have a balcony to put potted plants on, maybe pick up a few of these flower grenades from Designist and smash them into an abandoned lot…just an idea
