Sexy Silver Linings

So last month was exceptional! I sold nearly as many sex toys in the month of July as I had in February, Sex Siopa's 2nd busiest month after Christmas. Normally we see a bit of a dip in sales during the summer months as folks go away on holidays or spend time participating in outdoor activities and going to festivals. However I started to notice a link between our dire weather here in Ireland and sex toy sales, and after checking Met. Eireann today, it would seem that my suspicions have been confirmed. 

If you check out the infographic below, rainfall in Ireland was up by 69% (hehehe...) for July, and thusly my sex toy sales were up by a whopping 175%! So what exactly were people buying to keep their Summers sexy even without the sunshine? I was delighted to see so many ladies doing it for themselves with 36% of toys purchased being vibrators. 26% were condoms and lube, showing that safe and slippery sex is important to you lot. Men's toys like cock rings and Tenga masturbators were 15%. Dildos and anal toys tied with 6% each; and all other toys like kegal exercisers, kink accessories, and menstrual cups were at 12%.

And I wasn't the only online business to notice a spike in sales during the official Shittiest Summer Ever! So I guess for those of us with an Interwebz-based business, there's at least a bit of a silver lining.
