My first glossy interviews!

FEB2014-mags

February has been an amazing month so far! On top of celebrating the siopa's 1st birthday in the Twisted Pepper (see below post), I've also gotten more good press than you could shake a silicone double ended dildo at! It started at the beginning of the month when I was asked to be interviewed by Le Cool. I've never really thought of myself as "cool," but I'm delighted that someone out there, who isn't my boyfriend, thinks I am! Heather Keane from Trinity New's Two Magazine (page 7) also gave Sex Siopa a mention in her great piece about sex toys, masturbation, and how the media portrays them. It's her first sex feature, but I hope she continues writing about it. This country definitely needs more sex-positive writers, and she's one of the best student writers I've seen so far.

StellarMAR2014

I also did a giveaway with weekly mag, Woman's Way, and my first ever glossy interviews were published in Irish Country and Stellar! They both did amazing pieces that effectively explained the importance of body-safe materials and good toy design. I was especially proud of my Irish Country interview, because I assumed they were quite a conservative publication. However they've always published fantastic profiles of female entrepreneurs and farmers that you don't often see in many women's glossies, and I have so much respect for that. Stellar did a lovely little mini Sex Toy 101 menu along with the main article that gives readers the basics of what to look for in a toy and how to wash them, etc. It's so awesome to see writers and editors getting on board with the body-safe message. Like I've said in every interview I've given to date, the more we openly talk about well-designed toys, give reviews, and do our research before buying new toys, the better (and safer) adult products will be in future.
